For the second time Accsys, a member of the Business Connexion Group and national supplier of management solutions within HR, payroll administration, time & attendance and access control, has received a Technology Top 100 (TT100) Award for Sustainability.
The Technology Top 100 annual award programme, a division of Da Vinci, is in its 20th year.
It is recognised and endorsed by industry and government as a credible platform through which to acknowledge achievement, innovation and efficiency in business.
The Honourable Minister of Science and Technology, Ms Naledi Pandor, presented Accsys with the Award.
According to Minister Pandor fostering strong and sustainable partnerships between government and industry is imperative, which is why programmes such as TT100 are valuable.
“It identifies South African role models whose innovation, tenacity and passionate belief in people has enabled them to take their organisations to a new level of competitiveness and provide inspiration for future generations of innovators and technology developers,” she said.
Organisers have stipulated that the TT100 programme reflects the story of South Africans who, through passion and tenacity, have become recognised as significant players in the global economy.
This year Accsys was named as one of only four companies to receive the Award for Sustainability, and was included as a finalist in an additional three categories, including Award for Excellence in the Management of Technology, Innovation and People.
The Award for Sustainability is presented to an entire organisation and its management based on the collective contribution within its chosen marketplace, and to the South African society as a whole.
Such an organisation demonstrates not only a unique ability to manage the TIPS (Technology, Innovation, People and Systems) elements within its own operations, but also demonstrates its ability to manage its impact on the environment, its commitment to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, job creation and employment equity.
The Technology Top 100 annual award program is based extensively on the TIPS model. The model recommends the processes and procedures to be followed to ensure smooth operation whilst balancing internal and external influences.
It also specifies the inter-connectivity between three key elements of the model and aspects of corporate governance and management, which are vital to a sustainable, higher performance organisation.
These elements are Alignment (linking technology and people), Engagement (linking innovation and people) and Agility (linking technology and innovation).
Accsys falls within the Innovation Group of Business Connexion, headed by Isaac Mophatlane. He explains that this division includes all the managed services specialist’s internally developed and owned software and other intellectual property.
“The award is a nod to the organisational culture of our company as a whole. Sustainability is something which drives every aspect of our business activities, as we recognise it as a fundamental necessity to assure the future of our people, our clients and partners and our organisation itself,” Mophatlane says.
Teryl Schroenn, CEO, Accsys, says the award and recognition is a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to people development in the workplace, and the relevance of strategic thinking around technology and application.
“We are proud of our ongoing contribution to industry, to the country’s socio-economic development and the empowerment of individuals within the workplace. Systems are being developed at a rapid rate and innovation has changed the way we operate and interact within all levels of commerce and trade. The award for sustainability is a significant achievement and we endeavour to continue to establish the company’s influence in existing and emerging markets.”Click here for more information on Accsys
