Bob Martin, the leaders in pet care since 1892 have pledged their support to the rehabilitation of a very special rescue dog. The pet, which had fallen into the Big Hole in Kimberley and been unable to get out again, captured the hearts of South Africans and people from around the world.
When, on Saturday 23 November, Warrant Officer John Seeley, of the ER24 rescue team, risked life and limb to abseil down the 200m cliff to rescue the dog, an international media frenzy ensued.
The exhausted, frightened dog was taken to a local veterinary surgery, where she was observed and treated for 48 hours until stabilised. She has since been adopted by her rescuer, Warrant Officer John Seeley, who has fondly named her Kimberley.
Hearing the story of the heroic rescue in the media, the manufacturers of Bob Martin pet products, came forward to offer to support the Kimberley SPCA by donating 50 large bags of Bob Martin adult and puppy food to the dogs already in their care, and a year’s supply of dog food to Kimberley’s new adoptive owner.
“This act of bravery stole the hearts of pet lovers around the world, and we were immediately moved to provide assistance to those involved in offering Kimberley , a second chance,” said Justine Gatter, marketing manager of Bob Martin. Click here for more information on Bob Martin
