Accsys, a member of the Business Connexion Group (BCX) and national supplier of people management software and hardware solutions within the HR, payroll and time & attendance space, has been shortlisted as a nominee for a National Business Award in the category Innovation through Technology.

The Sandton-based Company has successfully passed the second round of adjudication for the Top Performing Companies (TopCo) Media-organised event and is now officially in the standing to possibly win an Award based on its technical capability, innovation and solution rollout.

Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony scheduled for 15 November 2013 at Emperors Palace, Gauteng.

Teryl Schroenn, CEO of Accsys, is looking forward to the outcome of the competition and believes it is an achievement to be identified as a candidate for the Award.

“Especially in terms of innovation through technology, which is acknowledged to be one of the main ways businesses differentiate themselves. Innovation lies at the heart of what we do and why we do it – advances in systems, in solutions and in processes and procedures continues to have a substantial impact on HR and payroll. It is an honour to be identified for our technical expertise and influence on the market,” says Schroenn.

An example of the level of innovation to which Accsys’ CEO refers, the Company recently launched PeopleWare Mobi, the first-of-its-kind Employee Self Service (ESS) mobile app to the domestic market.

Peopleware MOBI is a groundbreaking mobile extension of Accsys ESS and can be used from any location worldwide to authorise leave requests, sign-off overtime payments, approve training, and even "clock" into T&A using a mobile phone's GPS or WiFi geolocation capabilities.

The solution is designed to facilitate and process a number of HR functions, including leave management, authorise ESS requests and access payslip history.

The National Business Awards is an established forum recognises and rewards the success of business leaders across South Africa’s various sectors.

Business leaders and government heads including Ansie Ramalho (Institute of Directors), Pumla Ncapayi (General Trade & Investment South Africa), Thulani Nzima (SA Tourism), Honourable Minister Elizabeth Peters (Department of Transport) and Geoffrey Qhena (Industrial Development Corporation) will be present at the event.

TopCo Media’s Awards Director Karla Fletcher has said “It is apparent to me more than ever that competitive businesses are key drivers to our economy. Companies at the top see the importance of constantly challenging themselves against the very best in the industry and this keeps us as a nation innovative, more productive and having a global competitive edge. The initiatives and innovations seen by this year’s entrants are ground breaking! I am therefore thrilled to announce the 2013 finalists and wish the judges the best of luck in choosing the winners as this year it will be a mammoth task.”Click here for more information on Accsys
