Philips is announcing Philips Sonicare PowerUp, an easy way to achieve a better clean from the number one dental professional-recommended sonic toothbrush brand worldwide.

Brushing for two minutes twice a day is the recommended minimum for good oral care. However, using the Sonicare PowerUp power toothbrush delivers more brush strokes in two minutes than a manual toothbrush does in one month.

The gentle, yet effective, cleaning action of Sonicare PowerUp resembles that of a manual toothbrush, and with a familiar look and feel, the transition from manual to power toothbrush has never been so simple.

Sonicare PowerUp uses sonic technology to deliver an up-and-down brushing motion that mimics manual brushing, but with the amplified effects of 15 000 strokes per minute, compared to about 300 with a manual toothbrush.

Sonicare PowerUp produces a dynamic cleaning action which gently removes more plaque than a manual toothbrush, reducing the risk of cavities and improving gum health, while providing an all-over-clean feeling.

“Sonicare PowerUp is a great option for people looking to experience a power toothbrush for the first time,” said Eef van Elsberg, Category Leader Oral Healthcare at Philips Consumer Lifestyle. “Our mission is to give consumers a life of better oral health and brushing with a power toothbrush is the first step towards improved gum health and oral care. Sonicare PowerUp now allows more people to enjoy our sonic toothbrushes so they too can enjoy better oral health.”

Sonicare PowerUp is convenient and easy to use. It operates with a simple push of one button located on the brush’s slim handle, designed for maximum maneuverability. A built-in two-minute timer ensures you brush for the recommended brushing time every time.

Philips Sonicare PowerUp Is available from selected Dis-chem and Clicks stores. It is currently available at a Christmas launch price for the December 2013 festive season. Click here for more information on Philips Sonicare
