Schools excited to #TasteTheMoment at the Twizza Super School Series

SA’s Schools are excited to #TasteTheMoment at the Twizza Super School Series where they’ll battle for the coveted title of “South Africa’s best athletics school”.
The first regional qualifier, Regional Qualifier 1 will take place at the Bestmed Tuks Athletics Stadium (Pretoria) on Tuesday 19 September 2019 while the second regional qualifier, Regional Qualifier 2 will take place at the Green Point Athletics Stadium (Cape Town) on Saturday 05 October 2019. From here the Top 40 schools will advance to the Grand Finale that will take place at the Bestmed Tuks Athletics Stadium (Pretoria) on Saturday 01 February 2020.
“The countdown to the inaugural Twizza Super School Series has begun and we are super excited,” says Ajee Valentine, Twizza National Sponsorship Manager. “Future track & field stars will face healthy competition while representing their schools at a premium meeting. The winning school will officially be crowned South Africa’s best athletics school and will take home the coveted Twizza ‘Taste The Moment’ Trophy and bragging rights for a year.”
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response received from schools,” continues Valentine. “They’ve welcomed the opportunity for their learners to gain further experience in this magnificent sport. We can’t wait for athletes and supporters to #TasteTheMoment with Twizza.”
Uitsig High School (Centurion, Pretoria) and Paarl Boys’ High School (Paarl, Western Cape) were the first two schools to enter the Twizza Super School Series.
“Our athletes are always open for a challenge,” says Hanlie Truter, Athletics Head of Uitsig High School. “As a school, we strive to give further exposure to our athletes and our school as a whole. We want to prove that nothing can keep us from participating, dampen our enthusiasm or prevent us from achieving great heights. The Twizza Super School Series is an innovative and exciting athletics competition that cannot be missed.”
“We love the concept of the Twizza Super School Series,” says Rayno Snyman, Master In Charge of Athletics Paarl Boys’ High School. “We would like to give our athletes maximum exposure. Our goal is to improve the performance of our athletes. We are excited to be able to achieve this on such a wonderful platform.”
