Spate of international trophies and gold medals for CWG members

The single minded vision of the Cape Winemakers Guild to elevate the standing of the South African wine industry amongst the world’s best has reaped rich rewards with two trophies, a Grand Gold and 30 Gold medals awarded to their members in prestigious international wine competitions so far this year.

Louis Strydom’s Cirrus Syrah 2007 and Johan Joubert’s Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2010 both brought home a Regional Trophy from the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards in London. Frans Smit won a Grand Gold medal with his Spier Private Collection Shiraz 2008 at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles held in Luxenbourg this year.
