The Albany Street Smart Squad was the third event in Albany’s ongoing consumer wellness drive. This year, Albany has hosted numerous workshops and initiatives, aimed at helping South Africans improve their health and wellness - covering everything from eating habits and nutrition to stress management and exercise. This latest chapter put women empowerment and safety at the forefront of the campaign.
In honour of Mandela Month, the Albany team, together with ambassador DJ Zinhle, have pledged to make one thousand sandwiches for the African Children’s Feeding Scheme. Sarmies for Smiles is the first event of its kind for Albany, and was born out of the desire to get hands-on in making a difference.
Albany Bread was recently awarded Sunday Times Top Brands status by taking the number two position in the Essential Food category. The awards recognise the brands that have earned top consumer sentiment in South Africa over the past 12 months.
Albany Superior Bread was recently awarded Icon Brand status in Ask Africa’s Icon Brands survey. Icon Brands are brands that South Africans identify with as a nation. They are brands that are used loyally by South Africans every day across age, income, race and language spectrums. This is what makes being named an Icon Brand such an achievement, it is a vote that comes directly from fans and people who love the brand.
