Brampton wines began in 1996 as the playful ‘little brother’ to Rustenberg Wines, one of South Africa’s most respected Estates owned by the Barlow family. The Barlow’s have been farming in Stellenbosch in the Cape winelands for over 60 years. Besides premium wine, the Rustenberg family farm is also home to a fine dairy and prized Jersey cow herd.
Brampton’s name honours champion Jersey bull Brampton Beacon Bloomer, who was imported from Canada by Peter and Pam Barlow to add zest and vitality to their herd. In the same way, Brampton with its stylish modern label and innovative wines express the natural vivacity of sunny South African fruit in a modern, widely appealing, colourful range of delicious drinking wines.
Since DGB (Pty) Ltd welcomed Brampton to the stable in early 2010, it’s business as usual with the same great wines from the same great grapes in partnership with the same great team that have made Brampton the brand it is today.
