Pale gold with fresh green glints.
Nose: Perfumed with attractive ripe fruit and floral fragrances. Palate: A full gently sweet entry with a lush and juicy mouth feel – ripe fruit salad flavours are wonderfully offset by a tangy perky acidity that lifts the wine and takes it through to a fruity yet fresh and inviting finish.
Overall: The wine style is elegant with attractive fruit flavours and a balanced mouth structure. The initial sweetness ends in a dryish aftertaste which has made the wine enormously popular and one of South Africa’s favourites. Food suggestions: A very drinkable wine served well chilled on its own, or at picnics and braai’s or with Indian curries, BBQ flavours, summer salads and peri-peri chicken.

One of the brightest young stars in South African winemaking has joined the team at Bellingham, where she will be working alongside head winemaker Richard Duckitt. We welcome Arlene Mains to the fold, a winemaker who has achieved an impressive CV in her relatively short career. We asked Arlene, whom Richard describes as “very likable, with a great sense of humour and good palate”, a few questions to get to know the person behind the friendly exterior.
J.C. Le Roux will be adding some vibrancy to the festive season with a new limited edition design for its La Chanson, Le Domaine and La Fleurette sparkling wines.
