Regional Distribution Centre Manager

Our client is a JSE listed FMCG Food & Beverage business. Reporting to the National Logistics Manager, you will manage a regional distribution centre (located off-site from manufacturing facilities), 2 local distribution centres (bulk warehouses located at manufacturing facilities) as well as depots. This includes warehousing of finished goods, and re-distributing via 3rd party channels, internal depots, and directly to customers. You are accountable for the profitable management of the centre, including; customer service, fleet efficiency, contract drivers, primary fleet is outsource), facility utilisation and maintenance. Total staff compliment 80-100.
Your planning skills and customer centric approach will ensure that you manage smooth delivery points and on-time NDDs (nominated delivery dates), elevated customer service levels and lost sales. You will control associated DCs for the warehouse, administration, secondary distribution and pallets. Your people management skills are well developed and you have previously been challenge - and have succeeded - in the management of stock losses, syndicated theft, “rework” and infestation.
This position requires:- ● Degree in Commerce / Logistics ● 6-8 years’ relevant experience within a FMCG Distribution Centre & Warehouse Management environment in a senior management role ● Advanced computer skills using MS Office, SAP SD and Warehouse Management Systems. As the company is moving onto a new system (EWS), experience using multiple systems and ideally EWS would be advantageous.
