Scottish craft brewing giant BrewDog has unveiled a new beer that is brewed at the bottom of the North Sea. The beer, by name Sunk Punk, is said to be the first beer to be brewed underwater.
Sunk Punk, a pale ale with a 7.1% ABV, reportedly contains a series of maritime-themed ingredients, including buckweed, distilled sea-salt and rum.
The Aberdeenshire-based brewery placed a specially-modified fermentation tank into the sea sometime during the summer this year.
STV quoted BrewDog co-founder James Watt as saying not only does Sunk Punk provide an alternative to the fizzy, pathetic mainstream lagers peddled by giant monolithic breweries, it will be solely responsible for halting any superstition-related storms on our coastline.
The limited edition beer with 960 bottles produced, which are available for sale on BrewDog's website at £9.99 each, according to off license news.
BrewDog's portfolio includes brands such as Trashy Blonde, 77 Lager, 5AM Saint, Punk IPA, Hardcore IPA, Paradox, Sink The Bismarck, Prototype 17 and Alice Porter , among others.
