Ackermans launches A-list Summer collection

With winter’s icy grip on the country, it's hard to believe that summer is around the corner. The onset of warmer days means that it’s almost time to ditch the winter wardrobe and embrace a lighter, brighter one. However, selecting a summer wardrobe can be a daunting experience, as consumers are spoilt for choice and simply don’t have the time to sift through the top trends - particularly when on a budget.
In answer to this, Ackermans, South Africa’s leading value retailer, offers a summer ‘A-List fashion must-haves’– a curated look book that showcases on-trend pieces, as well as a ‘how-to’ guide on mixing-and-matching garments for multiple looks.
“Summer will have a strong focus on wardrobe essentials such as dresses, tops, shorts, denim and sandals. These will be presented in an exciting array of colours, designs and patterns, that will be sure to breathe new life to your summer wardrobe,” says Shameema Maloon, Advertising Specialist at Ackermans.
She adds, “These favourite summer staples are available in extended sizes, catering to different body types so that everyone can enjoy these fresh summer looks.”
Shameema unpacks the top “must-have” fashion items to look forward to this summer:
Whether you’re going to a wedding or a casual day out in the sunshine, a chic and easy summer dress will see you through most occasions.
“Summer dresses are versatile and easily dressed up or down. Whether you go for bold statement colour, pretty florals or all-over prints, they are perfect for every occasion.”
Easy-to-wear, affordable and comfortable – the sandal is the ultimate summer shoe.
“This year we have collaborated with a proudly local supplier to offer customers a locally-sourced 100% leather upper sandal in different styles. This sandal works seamlessly with most outfits, and can be paired with dresses, shorts or jeans.”
“It's a common misconception that denim is not a suitable material to be wearing in the summer – it’s too hot or too constraining. This couldn’t be further from the truth. If you pick the right washes, cuts, and additional pieces, they make for the perfect summer look", explains Maloon.
Ackermans perfect-fit denim provides a comfortable silhouette which flatters curves. The range is available in various styles including bootleg, skinny & jegging as well as new styles such as ankle grazers and tube jeggings. “Whether you dress your denim up with a pair of heels or go casual with a pair of pumps or sneakers, we have you sorted.”
The ‘A-List fashion must-haves’ collection will be available in stores nationwide from September.

Push and pull strategies work together to keep consumers coming back for more
26/11/2019 - 10:20
The retail sector is under increasing pressure as consumers have shrinking disposable income in a strained economy. Maintaining share of wallet is critical. Relying solely on a push route to market strategy from manufacturers into retailers is not enough to get consumers buying products. A pull strategy needs to coexist with the push to drive brand consumption. Integrating these strategies requires intelligent and insightful decision-making. This, in turn, requires data generated through smart technology which provides line of sight across the value chain from manufacturer to distribution, retailer to the consumer.
