Woolworths customer wins R1 million grand prize

Woolworths Financial Services (WFS) is pleased to announce the winner of its Woolies Millionaire competition. The lucky winner received R1 million in a campaign that ran from 10 May to 30 June 2019, targeted at both new and existing credit card customers.
Sivi Pillay, CEO of Woolworths Financial Services (WFS) said, “We are extremely excited for the lucky customer. We are pleased to have made this positive contribution and we wish him all the best for the future."
The winner, whose identity has been withheld for safety reasons, commented: “Thank you very much Woolworths, it still feels like a dream”
Qualifying customers were awarded an opportunity to play the Woolies Millionaire game and upon completion of the game, they would get a single entry into the draw. Customers were also given the opportunity to share their experience on Facebook. This in turn then gave them a second entry into the draw. Additionally, WFS allocated a R50 donation to MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet on the customers behalf, when they shared their experience to Facebook, to the total maximum value of R100,000.
Over 16 000 customers participated in the Woolies Millionaire game and we had a positive response on social media, with almost 4 000 customers sharing the content on Facebook.

Woolworths Holdings' (Woolies') share price gained a solid 12.8 percent last week after it announced a turnaround at its fashion, beauty and home business this year.
