Retail in brief: Will Carrefour's moves woo Africa?

In a recent development, the world’s second largest retailer, Carrefour, has entered into a joint venture with distribution provider CFAO, to grow its footprint in Africa.

Although the retailer is already in business on the continent, this undertaking will see stores trading under the Carrefour name, in the Western and Central parts of the continent.
