Johannesburg – G.H Mumm Champagne, Premium French champagne, has been featured in Africa’s Rap Prince, and Multiple Award Winning artist, AKA’s music video, titled “Congratulate”. The music video was released early May 2014 after his exclusive video premier screening, on 30 April, with G.H. Mumm Champagne, at the Bang and Olufsen store, in Sandton.
The video debuted on the 3rd of May 2014 on various platforms, but AKA insisted on giving the fans what they wanted, and released the video on YouTube at 10am on the 2nd of May 2014, citing that his fans were the most important people so they deserved to see the video before it aired on various channels.
19 hours later, the Congratulate video was sitting at 15k+ views and was predicted to hit 20k+ views by the 24th hour. #CongratulateVid flooded social media timelines and trended all over South Africa since the 2nd of May 2014.
“G.H Mumm champagne stands for everything to do with celebrations and victory; it was only natural we would want to get involved with AKA’s Congratulate music video and celebrate with him on his achievements – the G.H Mumm way. AKA entered the SA music scene and has fast made a name for himself and that undoubtedly should be congratulated.” Says Mandla Holomisa, Brand Manager for G.H Mumm.
The Congratulate video marks AKA’s directorial debut as he co-directed the music video with award winning director, Amr Singh.
AKA’s Congratulate track has been topping the SA iTunes chart and SA iTunes Hip Hop charts since its debut. It’s currently on high rotation on stations across the country and featured on numerous radio stations’ Top charts weekly.
