It’s Showtime for Rhodes and Real Magazine

In a 2nd major promotional tie-up, Rhodes Foods and Real Magazine are partnering again – this time for a television food show featuring Real food editor Nandi Twala.

Rhodes will be sponsoring the next 26 episodes of Soweto TV’s beloved community food show, Kasi Kitchen. Broadcasted on the free-to-air Soweto TV, and on Soweto TV (DSTV 150), Kasi Kitchen can be viewed on Friday evenings at 6.15 pm.

Rhodes is sponsoring the series to highlight the delightful Choice Grade Rhodes range of jams, canned fruit, tomato products and canned vegetables.

Rhodes recently launched the first Baked Beans endorsed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of South Africa. With less than 50% of the sodium contained in similar products, the Baked Beans are also Low GI certified and approved by Diabetes South Africa.

Other new innovations from Rhodes include the new-look Jam in Glass range, and another first for South Africa, Rhodes Red Fig Jam in a Fridge-Friendly can.

Shooting started on 19 July at the new Rhodes/ Real Kasi Kitchen in Sandton, where two episodes were filmed: 3 August featuring Pear “Upside Down” Tart and a Pear, Apricot and Vanilla Crumble; and 10 August, featuring Mexican Eggs and new Rhodes’ Lasagna.

Real Magazine will be featuring the recipes as demonstrated on Kasi Kitchen every month over a double page spread, with Soweto TV re-broadcasting the episodes also on Saturdays at 2.15 pm and at 6.30 pm.

Kasi Kitchen is presented by Soweto TV’s Sindi Mpahlwa. Sindi is also the producer of the series. Caterers and chef’s in Gauteng are filmed in their own kitchens. The last 10 minutes of each 45 minutes program is a Rhodes/ Real insert featuring Nandi Twala.
