KLIPDRIFT GOLD TO WARM UP WINTER

BRAND ACTIVITY

Jun 14th 2011, 08:32

Legend has it that St. Bernard rescue dogs carried brandy barrels around their necks, used to warm those trapped in the snow. Others say it’s the overactive imagination of English painter, Edwin Landseer, who produced a painting in 1820 called Alpine Mastiffs Reanimating a Distressed Traveller, depicting St Bernard dogs with the small barrels of brandy. Whether it’s legend or truth, enjoying the smooth, exceptional Klipdrift Gold could warm any chilly night.

Produced by brandy master Johan Venter, Klipdrift Gold is a well-balanced potstill brandy. With its finessed, fruity profile and lustrous golden hue, it features a unique blend of superior long-aged potstill brandies (some up to 21 years old) balanced by younger elements to create a brandy that exhibits both the distinction of maturity and the vibrancy of youth.

Enjoy this golden liquid in a brandy snifter along with a selection of nuts and hard cheeses. An initial aroma of ripe peaches, pears and citrus fruits is complemented by sweet spices, chocolate and hazelnut, which continue to unravel in the glass.

Klipdrift Gold is available from leading liquor outlets and retails for around R200 per bottle. Click here for more information on Distell
