Nampak DivFood, South Africa’s leading manufacturer of food, aerosol, general line cans and decorative tinware officially opened its new 5-colour Crabtree FastReady printing line for customers to view at the company’s Vanderbijlpark plant Customer Day. Nampak DivFood’s newly installed End-o-mat production line for can end-making was also showcased on the day.
William Mkhabela, Nampak DivFood Vanderbijlpark’s General Manager, opened by welcoming customers the likes of Clover, L'Oreal, Kraft Foods and Tiger Brands to mention but a few. The goal of the day was to embrace innovation, showcase the new printing technology and personally give customers a feel for where DivFood is headed as a business.
The new 5-deck printing line with in-line varnish capability is supplied by Crabtree UK, a leading supplier of FastReady metal print technology. The printing line is complemented by Kemtek CTP (Computer To Plate) pre-press technology, which cuts five steps of artwork initiation down to just two. As a result of its new technology, Nampak DivFood estimates that new design lead times could be reduced by as much as eight weeks in certain cases.
Crabtree UK’s Director for Capital Equipment, John McHugh, was in attendance and spoke highly of Nampak DivFood’s commitment to improved service and product delivery. “The new printing line has three critical objectives, namely reduction in delivery times, production of better quality and reduction in costs,” said John. “Nampak DivFood has the equipment, the technology and the enthusiasm to break boundaries in metal packaging, and they are going to great lengths to achieve this for their customers. Metal is a very, very good packaging material and the new line is a great addition to this already great product,” concluded John. Click here for more information on Nampak
