Primedia Instore has teamed up with non-profit organisation Waste 2 Wow, to reuse its Correx point-of-sale material in the manufacturing of unique, trendy and functional bags, simultaneously creating employment and uplifting skills.
“This is in line with our Primedia Group values, which include sustainability, supporting innovation and ultimately, striving towards a common purpose of community upliftment,” says Teele Mapetla, Brand Manager for Primedia Instore. The company, which has over 30 years of in-store media expertise, places, maintains and removes in-store point-of-sale material in
over 13 000 top and bottom-end stores throughout the country.
According to Mapetla, the company prints approximately 9 000 units of corrugated Brand Vision board material for in-store campaigns per annum. “This material is not recyclable and we’ve been searching for innovative ways to reuse the point-of-sale collateral. We believe we’ve found the perfect answer in Waste 2 Wow,” says Mapetla.
He adds that what drew Primedia Instore to Waste 2 Wow was the fact that it has found second generation use of the Correx boards in the manufacturing of their products. Waste 2 Wow has up-skilling, training and job creation components, thereby enhancing both the operational and financial capacity of the community.
“Our clients appreciate that their point-of-sale material can be reused and that our business model has long-term sustainability, which gives us – and them – a competitive edge in a marketplace where consumers are increasingly demanding greener products and processes,” Mapetla relates.
