Although the legend of Kaldi, an Ethiopian goatherd who discovered coffee in the 9th century was only committed to writing in 1671, the recorded history of coffee actually goes back to the 13th century. Highlighting the popularity of coffee as far back as the middle ages, the first coffeehouse was opened in Istanbul in 1554.

Twinings who have been in business for over 300 years are proud to announce the launch of their highest quality filter coffees in South Africa.

DECAFFEINATED
Since more and more people are foregoing caffeine, let’s start with Twinings Decaffeinated. This is a blend of fruity Ethiopian Sidamo beans ground with full-bodied Brazilian and smooth Colombian beans. The result is a really refreshing, fully-rounded taste which can be enjoyed any time – even late into the night – without compromise.

RICH
“Rich” is a word much favoured by coffee manufacturers, but Twinings uses the word justifiably. Twinings Rich is a sophisticated blend of flavoursome Sumatran Lintung beans, craftily combined with the zesty taste of the Kenyan Highlands and the subtle sweetness of Brazilian beans. The ground beans then create a seriously rich, smooth taste that makes a perfect after-dinner Grande Finale!

INTENSE
When you need that stimulating coffee boost, Twinings Intense will do it for you. This is an enlivening blend of sweet Brazilian, velvety Zambian and zingy Kenyan coffee beans which, together, create an intense, full-bodied taste that’s certain to give you the lift you crave.

To enjoy the ultimate flavour of whichever coffee you choose to indulge in, take a tip from Twinings: when making coffee, avoid using boiling water – it will scald the coffee and make the taste a little bitter. Allow to cool for just a short while, but not too long as the full flavour will be weakened.

The Twinings coffee range, which will be distributed exclusively by Stafford Bros & Draeger, could make one understand why coffee was quite widely forbidden in the 15th century for its stimulating effect!

What pleasure awaits us?

Available from all leading retail outlets for approximately R57.00 (incl VAT). Further information : www.staffordbros.com.Click here for more information on Twinings
