Why choose Acrylic
Acrylic is a well-known material internationally, more commonly known as Perspex in South Africa. Both Plexiglas and Perspex have excellent UV resistance and clarity. Acrylic is more impact resistant than glass and weighs half the weight of its’ equivalent in glass. It is safe and easy to use and contains no harmful chemicals. Both Perspex and Plexiglas are 100% recyclable. Both can be laser cut and engraved, CNC router cut, screen printed and UV digital printed. Acrylic can also be easily combined with other material types such as Diebond, MDF wood, ABS, HIPS, PETG, and Rowmark plastics.
Clear Design uses 3M digital inks, as these are the only kind that can be used when printing onto acrylic for decoration and branding with our flatbed printers. These non-scratch inks can easily be used on items requiring a bend to be made through the artwork, which replaces the traditional option of screen printing and moulding acrylic into shapes. We can even print directly onto glass. In addition to our flatbed printing, we also offer the option of a roll-to-roll printer, which we use for decals, stickers, as well as printing paper posters, wallpaper, and pull up PVC banners for product and service message advertising.
CNC Router and laser cutting service
Our workshop is equipped with large CNC routers and large laser cutting machines. All the loose cut outs then pass by our polishing team who use diamond edge polished machines to polish all the edges, as well as buff polishing, before passing onto our assembly team.
Clear Design offers this cutting service to assist clients in the exhibition, interadesign, shop fitting and signage industries.
Assembly and finishing department
Our skilled assembly team bring displays to life by assembling of all the various projects’ components by hand. The team are required to work on multiple projects each day using machinery such as line-bending equipment and ovens to shape and mould Acrylic.
