BRAND ACTIVITY

Issued by Fastmoving on behalf of Clear Design - Mar 31st 2016, 16:02

For the past 20 years, Clear Design has been manufacturing and printing acrylic displays, specialising in the fabrication of Perspex acrylic supplied by Lucite UK and Plexiglas acrylic sheeting supplied by Evonik of Germany.

Thanks to years of dedicated effort, Clear Design is recognised for their service and commitment to the quality and workmanship of all the projects we manufacture. This is made possible by creating a close partnership with our clients to provide retail solutions. We offer a fully holistic approach to any project by managing the design, production, and logistics should it be required.

Our factory, which is based in Cape Town, supplies manufactured products to clients throughout South African and Africa, supporting our clients’ need for specialised merchandising display products, retail store fixtures, promotional signage, and stands.

Design and Development

We offer a customised design service. Due to the fact that we specialise in acrylic materials, we have been able to develop our own techniques and processes that all our clients’ brands can benefit from. Tried and tested fabrication and printing techniques are brought together by our design team to develop our clients’ vision for various displays required to support their identity and brand strategy.

Production

A well-equipped and clean workshop supports a healthy working environment for all our staff. We invest in the latest technologies and our staff via in-house training and skills development. We cultivate an ethic of encouraging staff to invest in their future through positive commitment to their duties and support of each other in the workshop. Our staff’s positive energy is evident in the quality of the products and services our clients receive when partnering with Clear Design.

Thanks to our on-going investment in technologies our clients benefit from regular improvements in design and product development allowing for more complex displays to be manufactured at affordable pricing and quicker turn-around times. Partnering with top quality material suppliers has provided us with many opportunities over the past 20 years ensuring that our clients are able to benefit from specialty material and design options. Our production team benefits from instant material availability to start any production immediately as we hold 3-month materials in stock to minimise delays for materials from our suppliers.

Why choose Acrylic

Acrylic is a well-known material internationally, more commonly known as Perspex in South Africa. Both Plexiglas and Perspex have excellent UV resistance and clarity. Acrylic is more impact resistant than glass and weighs half the weight of its’ equivalent in glass. It is safe and easy to use and contains no harmful chemicals. Both Perspex and Plexiglas are 100% recyclable. Both can be laser cut and engraved, CNC router cut, screen printed and UV digital printed. Acrylic can also be easily combined with other material types such as Diebond, MDF wood, ABS, HIPS, PETG, and Rowmark plastics.

Printing Service

Clear Design uses 3M digital inks, as these are the only kind that can be used when printing onto acrylic for decoration and branding with our flatbed printers. These non-scratch inks can easily be used on items requiring a bend to be made through the artwork, which replaces the traditional option of screen printing and moulding acrylic into shapes. We can even print directly onto glass. In addition to our flatbed printing, we also offer the option of a roll-to-roll printer, which we use for decals, stickers, as well as printing paper posters, wallpaper, and pull up PVC banners for product and service message advertising.

CNC Router and laser cutting service

Our workshop is equipped with large CNC routers and large laser cutting machines. All the loose cut outs then pass by our polishing team who use diamond edge polished machines to polish all the edges, as well as buff polishing, before passing onto our assembly team.

Clear Design offers this cutting service to assist clients in the exhibition, interadesign, shop fitting and signage industries.

Assembly and finishing department

Our skilled assembly team bring displays to life by assembling of all the various projects’ components by hand. The team are required to work on multiple projects each day using machinery such as line-bending equipment and ovens to shape and mould Acrylic.

Website and Newsletter

Clear Design sets the standard in offering a wide range of products supporting a variety of display needs. Our catalogue, which includes our pricing structure, can be easily viewed online. Our product range is expanding all the time. We update our website continually as well as produce a monthly newsletter emailed to keep our clients’ to keep them up to date with the various activities at Clear Design.
