The Clover Mama Afrika project, Clovers CSI project, together with their various project partners such as Bernina, invest in skills development training not only for their Mamas but also for members of their communities.
The most recent skills development training course happened last month where the Clover Mama Afrika team selected their top 10 sewers for 2018 to attend the first of two production line training courses at Bernina.
The mamas are to produce an order of 660 pot holders during the April and June session “The production line training sessions not only enables us to get an order of goods made that we use for special functions but it definitely teaches the sewers to work as a team and to meet deadlines. They are working under the strict eye of Linda Venter at Bernina who not only trains them but is the quality controller too,” explains Prof Elain Vlok, Founder of Clover Mama Afrika.
Tops sewers 2018 are Mama Daphne Oliphant of Roodewal, Mama Mirriam Toni of Mbekweni , Mama Yvonne du Preez of Progress, Mama Felicity Maluleke of Soweto, Maria Putlane of Botshabelo, Noreen Mtoto of Mdantsane, Bettie Dlamini of Umlazi, Sibongile Ndwandwa of Ubombo, Elsie Nyundu of Hazyview and Regina Seloko of Winterveld.
