In the cellar, this blend is given lavish treatment with 14 months in oak, 50% in new and the rest in 2nd and 3rd fill. The result is a big, bold and beautifully expressive wine with robust flavours of dark red and blackberry fruit, and cigar box flavours with cinnamon spiciness on the nose. A great accompaniment to grilled beef, mutton or venison. In fact, it’s a must for meat.

This unconventional blend is inspired by the dog’s cheeky chutzpah. Bright red cherry in colour and flavours of plums with an earthy minerality makes for endless enjoyment after work, at a steakhouse or around a fire. Chill it or add a block of ice, as we do in summer on the farm.

This attention to detail yielded a lively wine, with crushed pineapple, bananas and soft tropical notes of white peaches and pear on the nose. A full mouthfeel with fresh green melon flavours that excite the senses, and lingering finish complete the drinking experience.

Those quirky last words inspired this equally quirky Cinsaut – packed with juicy red berry fruit and wild cherries, some perfumed spice on the nose and a gentle silkiness on the palate. It is that unpretentious grace of a well-made Cinsaut that we really like.

This restrained, delicate treatment resulted in a great example of the new elegant style of South African Syrah. It is spicy and rich with textured layers and ripe, but fresh berry fruit. On the nose, there is inviting blackcurrant with aromatic notes of white pepper and coriander. On the palate soft, velvety tannins combine with lingering mulberry fruit and great structure for a memorable taste encounter.

This delicate partial wood maturation yields a Chenin Blanc of great character and style – a wine that is complex yet fresh, crisp and very stylish. On entry it exudes dried apricot and peach with tropical notes, persisting onto the palate together with ripe white pear flesh. Balancing the succulent fruit is good acidity, and a creamy finish rounds off the luxurious taste experience.

A blend created from the building blocks of its varietal ingredients to create a sum way better than the parts. The parts shaping delicious layers that evolve with every sip and make up an exciting whole. Mourvèdre create juicy dark berry fruit and a savoury richness whilst the Grenache Noir supports this with creating generous upfront fruit of blackberries, candied cherry and plums. Cinsaut flows onto the mix with soft plum and cumin notes from the Shiraz. All backed up by a slick mouth feel and supple tannins.

The wine is elegant and re ned, with opulent pear, kumquat and citrus peel avours, sweet exotic spice and a textured mouth-feel. The avours evolve and persist from the entry onto the palate, with layers of succulent tropical fruit and candied citrus avours unfolding. The well-de ned fruit is balanced by a mouth watering acidity and a lingering minerality on the nish.
