This is a newly established career opportunity within a SAVCA registered venture and growth capital company with specific interests in the FMCG Food & Beverage sector. Our client invests in businesses with strong IP, traction within its local market and great scalable potential to grow globally.
First and foremost you are a FMCG Generalist and Master Value Creator with key exposures in:- * Consumer Brands * Sales & Marketing * Commercial Route to Market (RTM) strategies and challenges. You understand the value of premium brands and can demonstrate your understanding of category management, strategic category positioning, insights that drive value within a category and the modern customers’ emotional connection to brands.
On the other hand, you are a valued board representative, you will provide strategic value add in consultation and will be supported by the broader investment team.
You are a seasoned influencer who has demonstrated significant business growth through collaborating with multiple stakeholders such as investee companies, investment application companies, food companies and the like. Coupled with this, you are able to articulate this commercially, from a people, change (and coaching) perspective with the associated value creation.
Key to this role is your understanding of the investment strategy of big food companies which will include:- * Scoping investment mandates and sourcing deal flow * Due Diligence for Board consideration * Management of new investment stakeholder relationships * Creating networks to add value.
You are equipped with 8-10 years’ experience within the Food/Beverage business sector with 4-5 years’ senior level sales, marketing or brand management experience with success in managing people and their career growth. If this experience was gained during the growth period within a company, you will understand the stress triggers to “scaling up”. Experience working in a start-up / emerging markets, an investment, private equity, investment banking or consulting environment is advantageous.
You have a relevant University Degree – a MBA or post graduate business degree would be advantageous. Your domain experience and interest is specific to the Food and Beverage sector (locally and/or internationally) in sales, marketing, brand execution and supply chain.
