Align Regional business strategies and manage local performance! Reporting to the VP Regional Manufacturing EMEA, the Operations Site Director takes responsibility for the development of the facility and all functional strategies as it relates to manufacturing, materials, distribution, engineering, and maintenance. The people agenda will see you lead others to achieve results and also to develop high performance teams.
Your experience should be gained in a multinational, matrix organisation with engagement at all levels locally and regionally, whilst maintaining focus on multiple projects locally and with attention to the detail without loss of production. Develop policies, procedures and programmes whilst leading and directing plant operations including quality, cost, safety, environmental and production forecasts as well as inventory controls. Prioritise manufacturing projects, implement processes, evaluate outcomes associated with warehouse, materials, customers, quality, safety and human resources.
Commercially astute, you will direct cost of manufacturing, review quality control and improve production outcomes according to the business plan, whilst ensuring that all compliance matters are in strict accordance with the relevant legislation related to environmental policies and performance, safety and health and that staff development is ongoing. With a solid human resource orientation, you will lead departmental managers to their full potential as well as their subordinates.
The ideal candidate will have a Degree in the business or technical arena, at least 10 years plant leadership experience ideally gained within a regulated manufacturing environment (eg. Pharmaceutical, Personal or Home Care). A Master’s Degree would be advantageous. Additionally, you will read and stay abreast of scientific and technical matters, financial reports and legal documents, whilst managing communications and correspondence with customers, regulatory bodies and members of business. You also have the ability to write articles, reports and speeches fit for presentation to top management, public groups and the Board. You are well versed in using software programmes, doing data analysis, calculations and presentations.
