Twinings Introduce New Voyage Flavoured Teas To The Range

by lauren@capacityholdings.co.za last modified 2007-08-10 13:45

Twinings, famous for its teas throughout the world, is delivering new and exciting experiences to the tea connoisseur. The increasingly popular Twinings Voyage range includes unique tea blends that express the flavours of some of the planet’s most exotic destinations.

For a start, there is ‘Brazilian Baia,’ an exotic invention in which a unique blend of tea is flavoured with vanilla, coconut and cocoa beans. And it’s delicious.

Brazilian Baia “Twinings is renowned for its tea-blending experience,” says Chris Lewis-Enright, Managing Director of Stafford Bros & Draeger, who represent Twinings in South Africa. “However, to associate tea with a country more famous for coffee is daring indeed. And it’s a dare that pays off deliciously.

Brazilian Baia is a smooth and subtle tea with the romantic aromatic flavours of vanilla, cocoa and coconut, and the experience is one of indulgence. It truly is reminiscent of Brazil, the land of the sensual and exotic lifestyle.” Next is Twinings Voyage ‘African Tunda,’ which carries hints of pineapple, rooibos and roselle to conjure up images of Africa’s hot plains and romantic history. “The beverage catapults the mind to the continent’s interior,” says Lewis-Enright. “This fruity and succulent blend is both unusual and subtly exotic. It’s a testament to Twinings 300 years of tea blending.”

Twinings brought its Voyage range to the South African market in 2005, with the introduction of ‘Indian Chai’, bringing the company’s peerless blending expertise to harmonise with the characteristic tastes of famous destinations. The tea has proved extremely successful with its wonderfully rich aromas and spicy cinnamon undertones giving the tea drinker the pleasure of ‘a journey in a cup.’ “Distinctive tea-growing regions provide a diversity of black teas,” Lewis-Enright adds, “which Twinings combine with local flavours to allow the tea drinker new experiences. These are unusual and subtle blends from Twinings, and they’re proving to be a hit with tea drinkers everywhere.”
