by kamcity.com — last modified 2010-02-09 09:31

South African retail giant Shoprite Holdings has rejected a report in the Economic Times, which said the company had ended its JV with a local real estate developer and was set to sell off its only hypermarket in India.

Carel Goosen, Deputy MD at Shoprite, said the group had not taken any “firm decisions” on its Indian operations.  He added, “Shoprite is constantly evaluating its business opportunities and is currently considering all options regarding the group's current and future involvement in the country”.
