Chinese retailer Bosideng to make European launch in London
RETAILER NEWS
The Retail Bulletin - Jun 6th 2012, 08:58
Leading Chinese clothing retailer Bosideng will launch its premium menswear brand in South Molton Street, London, in summer 2012.
The multi-million pound store will open its doors in July, and will also act as Bosideng International Holdings Limited’s European headquarters, marking the company’s first investment in an overseas flagship store.
Bosideng has over 8,000 retail outlets and is the largest down clothing company in Asia. It is ranked as the number one own clothing brand in China based on sales volume; an accolade that the company has held consecutively for a remarkable 16 years.* It is now making a substantial investment to take its expertise into the richly competitive European market, with the majority of its new collection to be manufactured in Italy, mainland Europe and China.
The European range has evolved following collaboration with designers Nick Holland and Ash Gangotra, whose reputations have been built on life-long experience in the industry and collaborations with celebrities, such as Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and his label Pretty Green.
Clearly a market leader in China, Bosideng is embarking on a journey of growth, bringing its style and expertise to Europe with the stated aim of becoming a well-recognised, international, integrated apparel brand operator.
Bosideng founder and Chairman, Mr Gao Dekang, said, “Bosideng has achieved significant recognition and respect in China. Now we are expanding to establish Bosideng’s international brand presence. Following many years of work behind the scenes we have chosen to launch in London, one of Europe’s most influential fashion hotspots, where we will showcase our expertise.”
Bosideng UK’s CEO, Wayne Zhu, added: “A move into Europe has been a goal of Bosideng for some time and we’re very excited to be launching in such a prominent location in London.”
