Easter is all about family, and that means food! With the Easter weekend just around the corner, many families are starting to plan for meals, and in an environment where consumers are looking to stretch their food budget as far as possible, the Kit Kat Group is promising great savings on basic food items and specials at its four Cash & Carry stores and 17 Express outlets across Gauteng.
Easter ranks as the second highest shopping holidays on the South African retail calendar with consumer activity increasing leading up to the Easter weekend continuing into the following week, resulting in the possibility of a two-week spending spree.
Apart from splurging on Easter eggs, consumers are looking for savings on basic foods items. “Our stores definitely attract more shoppers over the Easter period. We have observed over the years that many people who live and work in Gauteng visit their families over these long weekends and are looking for savings on basic foods items which they buy in bulk,” says group CEO Riaz Gani.
“As part of our Easter pricing strategy this year we have included tea and coffee brands in our specials basket and these are definite best sellers at this time of the year, based largely on religious observations,” Gani adds.
He says stokvel groups use this period as an opportunity to stock up and Kit Kat ensures that there are always adequate stock levels based on their needs and historical spending patterns to allow them to harness the power of collective bulk buying, economically and hassle-free.
The Kit Kat group’s specials are available from Thursday 18 April 2019 across all stores and trading hours will be as normal: Mondays - Friday at 8h00 – 18h00, Saturday from 08h00 – 15h00 and Sunday from 8h00 – 13h00, with an exception of the Benoni Cash & Carry store with extended hours on Saturdays from 08h00 – 16h00. (Normal closing time is 15h00).
