New Checkers in Plettenberg Bay creates 160 new jobs in local community

Checkers Plettenberg Bay Mall is one of 20 new look Checkers supermarkets in South Africa at the moment.
The state-of-the-art Checkers store promises greater convenience and an elevated customer experience including wider aisles and shelves. The in-store service departments include an impressive Cheese Deli, Coffee Bar, Wine Shop and Sushi Bar.
Not only is the new supermarket bringing a convenient shopping experience to the community, Checkers Plettenberg Bay Mall also created 160 new jobs in the local community of which 113 are youth (between the ages of 18 and 35) and 98 are women - bringing the store's full staff complement to 177.
To celebrate the store’s opening, customers will be treated to countless special offers, in-store competitions as well as delicious tasters from the Cheese World range of over 400 speciality cheeses, SA’s No.1 Championship Boerewors and more.

Checkers Plettenberg Bay Mall has a total of 15 pay points.
In-store fresh food departments include a Meat Market, Fish Shop, Hot & Cold Foods Deli, Bakery, Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, Coffee Bar and Sushi Bar.
A range of extensive services are available at the in-store Money Market counter including payment of municipal or service accounts, buying national lottery, bus, airline or Computicket event tickets, and much more.
The store’s trading hours are 08:00 – 20:00 from Mondays to Sundays.
