Shoprite honours top suppliers for 2011

The Shoprite Group of Companies paid tribute to their suppliers at its 2011 Supplier Awards held in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 26 November. This glamorous ceremony, held annually, provides an opportunity for the Group to recognise suppliers for their unstinting support and collaborative approach toward the company’s business during the past year.
The following suppliers were honoured in their respective categories:
Confectionery and Beverages: Shaun van Reenen, Simba
Contractor/ Service Provider: Faeesa Adams, Salient

SA food and non-alcoholic beverages inflation unchanged

South Africa’s food and non-alcoholic beverages inflation has bottomed out and will begin an upward cycle in the coming months, supported by an increase in agricultural commodities prices. The headline number will probably increase marginally as we expect the uptick in cattle and sheep slaughtering activity to contain meat price inflation at fairly lower levels in the near term which will, in turn, influence the overall increase.
