Two senior appointments at Pick n Pay

[Cape Town, 27 January 2014] Paulo Peereboom has joined Pick n Pay as a member of its Group Executive, responsible for the company’s Food Buying and Supply Chain Divisions. Paulo, who replaces Peter Arnold in this position, has 18 years of retail and manufacturing experience having worked for both Mars and Royal Ahold in six different countries on ten international assignments.
Most recently he has been working across the Royal Ahold Group responsible for business development and acquisitions and has led a process across all the business areas and regions to release funds from the operation to reinvest in the customer proposition.
Dr David North has joined Pick n Pay as a member of its Group Executive, responsible for Corporate and Legal Affairs as well as Group Strategy. David will additionally advise on the company’s sustainability and community plan, as well as provide guidance and support on Group Governance to the Supervisory Board.
Oxford educated, David has worked in a number of UK government departments as a Policy and Strategy Advisor, culminating in becoming a senior Policy Advisor to former Prime Minister Tony Blair. David subsequently worked at Tesco as Government Affairs and Corporate Responsibility Director. Most recently David has been the Executive Director of the Sustainable Consumption Institute at the University of Manchester.
