The Competition Commission has approved a joint venture agreement between Bunge SA and Senwes Limited and has issued a merger clearance certificate.  

Bunge and Senwes have indicated that they are delighted with the outcome and have furthermore advised that the transaction will become effective as from 1 October 2011.

The green light has been given by the Competition Commission following an announcement on 1 April 2011 by Bunge Europe Middle East Africa, the operating arm of Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG), a leading global agribusiness and food company, and Senwes Limited, a South African agribusiness company, of a joint venture agreement concluded for the procurement and marketing of grain and oilseeds operations in South Africa and other countries in Africa.
