Keeping up to date with retail
With a number of upcoming events on our calendar, it’s an
exciting time to be in FMCG and retail. Conferences, workshops and
the like, play an important role in growing and shaping our industry.
Retail
World Africa (3 Oct 11 - 4 Oct 11) at the Bay Hotel in Cape
Town is an essential conference to diarise. Featuring an array of
speakers, this year’s conference covers a number of aspects
in retail including ways to deliver ROI from existing and new products.
Being the only retail conference in Africa, this event should provide
new insights into our retail industry.
Of course, consumers are a key element in any retail business, making
the UCT Unilever presentation of a
study into the country’s “top end” consumers,
an important seminar to attend. This is reportedly the largest study
of “top-end” consumers undertaken, and the full findings
will be circulated at seminars held in Durban, Johannesburg and
Cape Town, on 11, 13 and 14 October 2011, respectively.
The behaviour of consumers today, whether “top-end”
or not, is influenced by many factors, social media being one of
them. The SOCAP
SA 2011 Conference is focusing on how increased access to social
media is changing the world of consumer affairs under the topic
““Consumer Affairs Professionals in Real-Time!”
This year’s SOCAP conference will be held at the Aviator Hotel,
Johannesburg from 3 – 4 November.
There are many conferences and seminars to look forward to in the
months ahead, apart from the ones mentioned here. Take a look at
the events section
of Fastmoving.co.za for more details.
