The Consumer Protection Act and the correct labelling of meat products


Consumers have been encouraged by the acting Consumer Commissioner to "seek redress" under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) with regards to the content of their meat product, but according to Chris Charter, Director in the Competition and Regulatory practice at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, those consumers looking for a payday will be most likely be disappointed.

Charter points out that the CPA outlaws false, misleading or deceptive representations.
