Johnny Apple wins SA’s Got Talent 2013

e.tv and Lunch Bar proudly present SA's Got Talent 2013 winner, Johnny Apple, who, after several standing ovations from the audience and judges for his extraordinary vocal talent, beating over 6 000 hopefuls, wins a cash prize of R250 000.

This season of SA’s Got Talent truly showcased South Africa’s best. Johnny Apple competed against rapper Lil Diezo, Glamipulator Olwethu Dyantyi, dancer Luzuko Namba, vocalist Nadia Van Der Westhuizen, as well as Justin-Lee and Jamie-Leigh from the JustinLeigh Band in the finale on Thursday, 17 October.

Juan Appelgrein who goes by the stage name “Johnny Apple” is originally from Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng but lives in George in the Western Cape.

Johnny’s dreams are very simple; all he wants to do is sing! He grew up in a musical family but it was his dance classes that got him into singing. Thus far, the largest audience that he has performed for was over a thousand people at the Portuguese Festival in Cape Town.

For the first time, the second and third runners-up will not walk away empty handed. Lunch Bar injected cash prizes of R30 000 and R20 000 for the second and third runners-up, respectively.
