How big is your packaging footprint?
As we become more conscious about sustaining our environment the
product packaging consumers’ use today needs to be more environmentally
sustainable than before.
In short the manufacture process for packaging needs to go green.
These processes should be using less raw materials, emitting less
carbon dioxide and should even be compostable. And, when we look
at what some suppliers and manufacturers of fast moving consumer
goods are doing already, this seems completely feasible.
Coca-Cola
South Africa, Nampak,
The
Caturra Coffee Company and Fleur
de Cap are already making headway with eco-friendly product
packaging. Read
more.
What innovative product packaging have you seen lately? And, how
big is your packaging footprint? Comment on our Facebook page, here.

Strike
wave casts cloud over growth prospects
A wave of strikes across SA’s manufacturing industries
is likely to curb growth in the economy this year and discourage
job creation — and could force small businesses to close
down, costing more jobs.
Union demands for double- digit pay hikes are also leading
to wage settlements high enough to force producers to raise
prices, which may keep inflation above its official target
range next year. |
